Busy Busy! hgtv style...

Here is our living room Before I will be able to post some After pics soon, I promise! We spent last weekend painting and putting up crown moulding (I do NOT recommend attempting to install crown moulding the morning after being out until 1:30 the night before!) We had absolutely NO idea what we were doing when we set out. I actually took our mitre box and a piece of scrap moulding to the lumber yard to ask for assistance. A very nice contractor offered to come over and help us. On a Sunday. he wouldn't let us pay him. How awesome is that??? I stopped by Tuesday morning with a really nice bottle of red wine for him. Anyhoo, getting a little off topic here! We have moulding, new wall color, window treatments hung, china cabinet moved along empty wall to make more room in the dining room and we are awaiting 2 new chairs. I can't wait to see the whole thing completed! I think I successfully found two chairs to complement my grandmother's furniture. I really lucked out that I had the space for her living room set. At first I didn't really love the style, but I have to say, it has really grown on me! I love being able to incorporate her things into my house.

I remember asking my husband to install moulding. The excuses were long and varied-can't do it in an old house, looks too formal, hard to paint etc.. Well we use this great handyman and in it went in a former bedroom. The room is now a "library" (really sounds pretentious-but it has alot of books) with deep red walls and white moulding, which I love and think adds so much to a room. I am now trying to convice hubby to take down some wall paper and paint-maybe it will be done when the ponds freeze over and he can no longer go fishing.

Well I thought I left you a comment-but then again I lost a spreadsheet at work. I have this idea that because we are hosting Wed. Presidential Debate-our computers are being monitored. I'm just paranoid!!!
Anyway molding (sp) is the best, but according to my husband he will not ever ever put any up again.
