Book Group

Last night was bookgroup. What a great time we had!! There are eight of us, and we were all able to be there. We will have one more meeting before we take a break for the summer. Only "beach" reading for July and August!!! My friend Jess hosted, but at my house. Perfect! Especially since John is once again playing golf (I mean traveling) for work. Here is the dining room set up for dinner and discussion.
And we read this:

What a GREAT book. I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy a book written entirely of letters, but I really loved it. Let me know what you thought if you have read it too!

And book group wouldn't be complete without a wonderful meal! Jess made Parmesan Portobellos and they were SO delicious! The recipe is from Mollie Katzen's book "Vegetables I can't live without" I will have Jess email me the recipe, because these were SO good!!! We stayed up way too late and had such a great time. What a special treat!!

Those look fabulous... I would love the recipe! I've seen that book and have heard good things about it so it will be on my long list of summer reads... did we ever discuss Elin Hillenbrand? She writes wonderful stories (chic lit) all of which take place on Nantucket?

We should discuss a Newport get together... 10 more days of school... ACK!!!

Entertaining Mom - I will post the recipe as soon as I get it! So YUMMY!!
As for Elin Hillenbrand - Love her books. I just went through a bunch from the library. So makes me ready to get to Nantucket!
I will email you about a get together!

That book is sitting on my dresser just waiting to be ready. Glad you enjoyed it!

Your dinner looks yummy too! Too bad my DH doesn't like mushrooms. Might just have to make that when he isn't around.

The portobellos look delicious! I was so glad to read that you liked the "Potatoe Pie" book as I call it. I have picked up that book to read so many times but put it back because I can't decide if I want to read a book that's all letters! Now I'll give it a try. I saw that you mention Elin Hillenbrand in your comments section. I have 2 of her books to read because they are set in Nantucket, one of my most favorite places. And I always like a good beach read in summer!
Love your blog!

I would love the recipe too! They do look delish. What fun to have bookclub over dinner. I might have to steal that idea. I've been curious about the book you read. I'll have to try it.

I just saw that book yesterday at (shhh)WallyWorld while getting my bubblewrap. By the way I laughed at your bubble wrap comment on my blog awhile back. Thanks for thinking of me! ;-)
