Daylight Savings Party

John and I had our first party since moving into our new home about a year and a half ago. We have been busy bees getting the house (well, the first floor anyway) done. We had a Daylight Saving theme (mostly because we didn't want to have a halloween party and this worked) We went with silver and black decor. Here are some silver and black m&m's that John picked up.

The dining room table. I found the silver topiaries at Marshall's and while I wouldn't necessarily use these normally, I love them for my silver theme! John thought they were quite silly though!

Another picture of the dining room (notice the wallpaper is long gone and has been replaced by paint!!) The sailboat hanging on the wall is actually the top of a weather vane that we purchased and the Brimfield Antique Show last year. Love that we decided to hang it on the wall! I covered the table with a piece of black velvet that I have had up in my studio for awhile (glad to finally find a use for it - must have been left over from a previous Halloween costume)
Polished the silver that we never use and voila! Our theme is complete. The food was awesome (I am not tooting my own horn here, we had it catered) and the company was great. John and I both wish we had been able to visit more with our friends, but maybe it will inspire me to set up more time to see them on a smaller level.

The bar. We later added a bowl of Halloween candy.

And finally, the completed living room! My new chairs came just in time for the party. I really love how they mimic the lines of my grandmother's furniture but are contemporary. So glad to have the first floor finished. I think we'll take a little break before we conquer the second floor!

Looks like a fun party! Love the complete living room...do you want to come over and do mine? :) I have been in my house for two years and have yet to decorate the living room. How sad (and white trash) is that? I think I am committed to buying a sofa this year for xmas. Got any suggestions?

Looks great and sounds like a fun party theme, especially since everyone can sleep an extra hour that night!
