snow days....

Once again we have a snow day! I found out last night around 8:00 that the boys school was closed. So nice to find out in the evening as opposed to getting a phone call this morning at 6:00! And I was able to go into the boys room and turn off their alarm. (and prop up our Snow Day book) fun to leave a little clue...
J is still not feeling 100%, so nice for him to not be missing an other school day. And nice that he's feeling well enough to play. He and C have been very busy setting up an elaborate Playmobil scenario all morning.
John is still in CA. Hopefully he will not be delayed in getting home. He is supposed to take the red eye tonight and be home around 6:00 tomorrow morning. I'm ready for him to come home.

sick days....

Good morning bloggy friends!
We have been struck with the yucks here at Chez Tickled Pink. Just when I think I can start getting things done around here. Oh well, such are the days of motherhood! I feel very fortunate that I just have to rearrange a few things, and don't have to worry about missing work. I give so much credit to moms who work outside the home!
C has had strep, J had a stomach thing last week, I had a stomach thing Sunday (thank God John was home so I could rest- he is off to CA this week) and now J has some new crud (we will be off to the Dr.'s to test for strep later)
And we are supposed to get 6-10" of snow tomorrow. Oh how I wish we had purchased a snowblower! I am not a fan of shoveling by myself! But John is taking the red eye home Wednesday night, so I will need to get it done so he can get in to the garage.
It has been awhile since he travelled. While I sure do like having complete control of the remote, I miss him! It is hard when he is in a different time zone, because connecting on the phone is always hit or miss. Don't know about the rest of you, but when he is gone, I have such a hard time going to bed. Not that I am being at all productive mind you! Last night I was up until after one reading a Women's Murder Club mystery. I just HAD to finish lol! I really should have quit when J showed up around 11:30 crying because he had a really bad sore throat, but no, I kept reading....
Have a great day everyone! I am going to embrace being home, and try to get ready for the big snow :) Maybe some banana bread is in order.....oooh, and maybe some turkey chili! (not together)

Oh my lands! It has been over a month!

Don't even know if I still have any readers out there! I keep meaning to post when I get all my pictures downloaded and that hasn't even happened yet...
I, like many others, have made a resolution to get my house totally ORGANIZED!!! Things are coming along well, but we have some areas to continue to improve on. My office/studio is one space, the laundry room another and my closet. Oh, and of course the junk drawer in the kitchen :) John gave me a gift certificate to remove the wall paper in my office/studio, and I want to get it cleaned out before he does that. I can't wait to pick out a paint color. Of course the room is going to be pink and green (the only girlie room my house filled of boys)
I am also finishing up some long over due work orders and trying to figure out if I can continue to start working again with this new law going into effect in Feb.
